The WE DeKalb Program provides a down payment grant of 3, 4 or *5% to qualified applicants interested in purchasing, or refinancing, a home in DeKalb County, Georgia based on the type of loan selected.
The Decide DeKalb Development Authority created the WE DeKalb Program as an economic incentive to assist our metro Atlanta area employers in attracting and retaining top talent by opening doors to homeownership in DeKalb County. The program is especially ideal for those who earn too much to qualify for affordable housing subsidies, but need help with down payment and closing costs. However, the grant is not restricted to homebuyers who work in DeKalb County. Any qualified borrower interested in buying a home in DeKalb County can take advantage of the nonrepayable grant.
Currently, the maximum qualifying income for a 2-member household is $81,900 and the maximum for a 3+ member is $95,600.
There are currently thousands of homes throughout DeKalb County that may be purchased with the WE DeKalb Program down payment grant, based on the FHA loan maximum of $358,800, the VA loan mortgage limit of $424,100 or the Conventional Freddie Mac HFA Advantage® loan mortgage limit of $424,100.
